The most useful concept presented was "how to find books specifically using Academic Search Premier."
Actually, you wouldn't use Academic Search Premier to find books. You would use it to find articles - journal, magazine, and newspaper articles. To find books, you'll want to search the SLU Libraries Catalog.
"How to get the limitation to read really old books?"
I'm not sure if I'm interpreting your question correctly. Do you mean that you'd like to find and read really old books? If so, you can find them in the general collection. After you'd done a search in the library catalog, you can limit that search by date by clicking on the on the Modify Search or Limit/Sort Search button. (This video demonstrates how to limit your book search by date.) We also have "really old books" in our Rare Books collection. The Rare Books collection contains more than 7,500 printed items, all from before 1820. The earliest item we have is an item printed in 1474.
Here are the hours for the St. Louis Room which houses our rare books. You may also want to contact our Rare Books Librarian Jennifer Lowe (314-977-5070, jlowe3@slu.edu) for additional information about their services and policies. Additional information can be found here as well.
I hope this blog post helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions. I'm happy to help you! -- Jamie
